My Grand Father was a RCAF Ferry Pilot taking planes from Alberta to Newfoundland. He was killed along with 6 other Ferry Pilots on the return trip crashing due to a storm over MacGregor Manitoba 1942.

My father was a pilot with Ferry Command. It was a "reward" for having survived two years in Bomber Command. He was with Ferry Command stationed in Nassau, flying the southern route delivering bombers to Cairo.

Ah Rob...that was such a lovely tribute to your dear Dad. Your Dad was one of the first people who we met when we first moved to Britannia Street, Stratford in 1964. He was an Elder at Central United Church then and he came to welcome us to Stratford and to Central. He stayed for a long time and he and my folks had a lovely visit. We always welcomed his Elder visits and always thought of him as a family friend. He was a lovely man. I bet you miss him a lot.
